Ellen "Nita" Cochran, 79, West Line, MO, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.  A Celebration of Life Service was held  Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.  Contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice or Sarah Cannon Cancer Center.

Nita was born June 20, 1940 in Linn Creek, MO, a daughter of Bernard and Mary Ellen (West) Burch.  She married George Joseph Cochran, Jr. on January 16, 1957.  They moved to West Line, MO in 1963.  Nita had worked as a supervisor for Marvin's Garden in Raytown and was also a certified nursing assistant (CNA).

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, a son, George Cochran and a brother, Bernard "Bud" Burch.  She is survived by her husband, George Joseph Cochran, Jr., West Line, MO; three sons, Mitchell Cochran (Karen), Grandview, Darryel Cochran (Karen), Pleasant Hill, MO, and Joel Cochran (Brooke), Drexel, MO; two daughters, Marie Holcomb (Craig), Freeman, MO, and Sandra Lee Bartlett, Drexel, MO; three brothers, John Burch (Yvonne), Winfield, IL, Larry Burch, Lone Jack, MO, and Michael Burch (Pat), Lee's Summit, MO; two sisters, Shirley Gross-Russel (Gordon), Lake Ozark, MO, and Geneva Millett (Mike), Independence, MO; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Burch, Peculiar, MO; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
