Ellen Elaine Cantrell, 57, Archie, Missouri, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Lee's Summit Medical Center in Lee's Summit, Missouri.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 30 at the Archie School Dome in Archie, Missouri, with visitation from 12:30-2:00 p.m. at the Dome.  Burial will be in Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian, Missouri.

Ellen was born May 31, 1956 in Houston, Texas, the daughter of William "Bill" Hale and Marian Elaine (Rice) Griffin. She grew up in Harrisonville where she attended school.  She was united in marriage to Jim Cantrell on June 2, 1990 at the United Methodist Church in Harrisonville.  They had lived in East Lynne and Austin, Missouri before moving to Archie.

Ellen worked in the food service department at Cass Medical Center in Harrisonville for 17 years.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Archie and was also a member of the Jolly 60's Club in Archie.  Ellen had also volunteered at the Archie School for several years.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her husband, Jim, of the home; one son, Josh Cantrell, Archie, Missouri, and one brother, Tom Griffin and his wife, Donna, Harrisonville, Missouri.
