Ella Elizabeth New, 90, Sierra Vista, AZ, formerly of Drexel, MO, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Life Care Center in Sierra Vista, AZ. A visitation will be held Monday, March 12, 2012 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Atkinson Chapel in Adrian, MO with burial to follow at Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian.
Ella was born March 26, 1921 in Cheyenne, WY, the daughter of Howard Leroy and Mildred Dee (Metcalf) Stevens. She graduated from Archie High School. Ella married Claude Eugene "Gene" New on August 30, 1914 in Las Vegas, NV. They lived in Drexel, MO over 40 years.
Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Gene on January 19, 2007. She is survived by one son, Dennis New, Adrian, MO; two granddaughters, Melissa Ware, Sierra Vista, AZ and Theresa New, Lee's Summit, MO; two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Sasha Ware and 2 nephews, Halley Stevens and his wife, Marsha and Gary Stevens and his wife, Marcia.
