Edwina Mae Ritter, 81, of Harrisonville, Missouri, died on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. Funeral services were held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.  Interment in Wills Cemetery, Peculiar, MO.

Born on August 23, 1943, in Cabool, Missouri, Edwina was the cherished daughter of Edward A. and Opal L. (Jennings) Tiedeman. She united in marriage with her beloved husband, John L. Ritter, on June 26, 1961, in a ceremony held at the home of Rev. Joe Brewster in Harrisonville. Together, they built a loving family and made their home in various places, including Creighton, Kansas City, and Peculiar. They settled in Harrisonville in 1989.

For over 40 years, Edwina dedicated herself to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Golden Years Nursing Home. Her nurturing spirit and kind heart touched the lives of countless residents, earning her the love and respect of both colleagues and families. Edwina found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly her weekly Bingo games at the Elks Lodge, where she created lasting friendships and shared laughter with her comrades.

Edwina was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; six brothers; and one sister. She is survived by two sons, Johnny Ritter and Glenn (Kimberly) Ritter, both of Harrisonville, MO; four daughters: Becky Ritter of Kansas City, MO; Linda (Charles) Reece of Harrisonville, MO; Brenda (Wesley) Rhoads of Burlingame, KS; and Barbara Hernandez of Harrisonville, MO; one brother, Lee (Pat) Tiedeman of Harrisonville, MO; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
