Edwin "Ed" William Brown, III, 64, Peculiar, MO, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 7 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO. Friends may call 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in Wills Cemetery in Peculiar, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Ed was born March 29, 1945 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of Edwin William and Lucille Rose (Klein) Brown. He grew up in Minnesota and had lived in Omaha, Nebraska and Kansas City, MO before moving to Peculiar.
Ed married Ann Michelle Fleming on July 3, 1965 in Kansas City. He worked as a lithographer for Personal Marketing in Lenexa, MO and was a member of the
G. C. I. U. #235 Graphic Communication International Union. Ed was also a member of the Kansas City Woodcarvers Guild and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Michelle, of the home; two sons, Ed W. Brown, IV of Lee's Summit, MO and David J. Brown of Lee's Summit, MO; one daughter, Renee A Robinson of Freeman, MO; two brothers, Jeff Brown of Albuquerque, NM and Mark Brown of Eagan, MN; one sister, Sally Hartland of Kansas City, MO and six grandchildren, Colby, Rylie, Kayla, Mitch, Jenna and Jacey.
