Edward Harry Shibe, 76, Peculiar, MO, died Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Cass Medical Center, Harrisonville, MO. Memorial services will be held at 6:30 PM Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, with visitation from 6:00-6:30 PM Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Kansas City Metro Office, 6700 Antioch Road, Suite 100, Merriam, KS 66204-1200.
Edward was born December 20, 1931 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, the son of Godfry Christian and Laura Mae (Stryker) Shibe. He was raised by his mother and his stepfather, Frank Clust. He was a 1949 graduate of Williamsport, Pennsylvania High School. He also attended Trinity University and the University of Pennsylvania. Edward served in the Coast Guard from 1957-1961 and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant from the U. S. Air Force on September 1, 1973. Edward taught electronics at Cass Career Center in Harrisonville, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Harrisonville.
Edward is survived by three sons, James R. Balducci, Butler, MO, Alphonse V. Balducci, Harrisonville, MO and Leonard E. Balducci, Freeman, MO; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
