Edward "Eddie" Crowder, 65, Belton, Missouri, formerly of Harrisonville, died Saturday, July 27, 2019 at his home in Belton. A Celebration Of Life service was held Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Eddie Crowder Memorial Fund, c/o Atkinson Funeral Home.
Eddie was born May 30, 1954 in Kansas City, MO, a son of Lyle Curtis and Hazel B. (Mudd) Crowder. He was a life-long Cass County, MO resident. Eddie was a truck driver all of his life until he was forced to retire on disability in February, 1999. His career began with Jack Cooper Trucking, hauling cars nationwide. He then became an owner/operator of his own rig, which we referred to as "Big Yellow". In the years following, Eddie drove for several different individuals, including Ray Ford and Sam Helt.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Cerra Lee Crowder, and two brothers, Dale LaRue Crowder and Larry Curtis Crowder. He is survived by a daughter, Stacy Renee Crowder, Belton, MO; a brother, Gary Dean Crowder (Kim), Harrisonville, MO; sister-in-law, Wanda Crowder, West Line, MO, and a sister, Patti Jo Baker (Rex), Archie, MO; six grandchildren and three, soon to be four, great-grandchildren, and his best friend of 40 years, Vickie Walker (Donnie), Raytown, MO.
