Edna Berneice Quick, 81, Butler, MO, died Friday, February 23, 2018 at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler. Funeral services were held Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian, MO with burial in Myers Cemetery, Butler. Memorial contributions may be made to Midwest Hemophilia Association.
Berneice was born June 11, 1936 to George E. and Fannie E. (Bellamy) Quick in rural Bates County near Montrose, MO. Berneice, one of 10 children, lived her childhood years in Bates County attending the Bethel School near Virginia. In December, 1956, she married Alvie L. Bennett and to this union three sons were born. Most of Berneice's working career was that of a CMT/CNA, retiring in 2010 due to her health. She enjoyed listening to country, gospel and blue grass music, crocheting, watching Big Brother and RFD TV. She was a devoted mother, always loving and caring, no matter the circumstance.
Berneice was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Michael Bennett, three brothers, George, Keith, and Charles Quick, and two sisters, Elizabeth Payne and Patty Russell. She is survived by two sons, Randy Bennett and wife, Tina, Carthage, MO, and Jr. Bennett and wife, DiAnn, Butler, MO; two brothers, Loyd Quick and wife, JoAnn, Clinton, MO and Densil Quick, Middleburg, FL; two sisters, Evelina Payne and Ione Berry, both of Butler, MO; 5 grandchildren, Tyler Bennett and Daniel Bennett, Butler, David Bennett, Shelby Bennett, and Joseph Bennett, all of Carthage, MO; 2 great-grandchildren, Dayton Bennett and Zannah Ruiz-Bennett, Carthage, MO.
