Edna F. J. Marble, 92, Harrisonville, MO, died Friday, July 18, 2008 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. The family will receive friends 6:30-8:00 PM Monday at the chapel. Burial in Sni-Mills Cemetery, Oak Grove, MO. Edna was born February 7, 1916 in Lone Jack, MO, the daughter of Lewis C. and Bessie F. (Bynum) Pemberton. She married Carlton Marble on May 27, 1933 in Independence, MO. They lived in the Lone Jack and Oak Grove, MO area until moving to a farm southwest of Garden City, MO in 1945.

Edna and Carlton opened Marbles Manufacturing Company, a welding shop in Harrisonville, which they operated until 1965. In 1966 they opened Marble's Real Estate which they operated until 1977. In 1964 they built a home on the south edge of Harrisonville.

Edna enjoyed gardening, both flowers and vegetables. She loved spending time with her family.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carlton, on August 9, 1978, an infant son, Sonny and one daughter, Jacquelene Dodson, on August 3, 2006. She is survived by three sons, Carlton Marble, Jr. and his wife, JoAnn, Warsaw, MO, Rodger Marble and his wife, Joyce, Garden City, MO and Ernest Marble Sr. and his wife, Dixie Lee, Harrisonville, MO; one daughter, Barbara Roach and Guy Lauver, Harrisonville, MO; two brothers, Clyde Pemberton, Las Vegas, NV and Bill Pemberton, CA; three sisters, Nancy Rodgers and Mary Hale, both of Lee's Summit, MO and Ramona Kennedy in CA; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
