Edith was born February 14, 1936 near Belton, MO, the daughter of Edward Curtis and Faye Marie (Salisbury) Ullery. The family moved to the Peculiar area when Edith was quite small. Her precious mother died when Edith was nearly 10 years old. Her father died in 2003.
On August 15, 1958, Edith married Marvin Keller and they embarked on a military career. They had two sons, David and Paul. Edith and Marvin have enjoyed traveling and their recent trip to Belleville, Illinois to attend the marriage of Paul to Irene Angelou, an occasion that brought great joy to Edith and her entire family.
Polio failed to thwart Edith's childhood desire to become a nurse. She achieved that goal and worked many years at Belton Research Hospital, retiring in 2000. At that time they moved to Rustic, CO, where they built the log home of their dreams, alongside the Cache La Poudre River. Edith was a member of the First Baptist Church in Peculiar.
It was Edith's desire to return to Peculiar in her remaining days. This was made possible when her loving stepmother, Loueva, asked that she come into her childhood home to be cared for. Marvin, assisted by Edith's sister, Janice, made her comfortable, while friends and loved ones came to her side to express their loving concern.
Those who knew and loved Edith knew of her utter and complete reliance on her Lord. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior when she was about 10 year sold, according to Romans 10:9-10.
Edith is survived by her husband, Marvin, of the home; two sons, David Curtis Keller, Rustic, CO and Paul Kevin Keller, Kansas City, MO; one sister, Janice Elaine Stair and her husband, Earl Eugene, Monroeville, PA; her stepmother, Loueva Ullery, Peculiar, MO; two granddaughters, Courtney Lee and Whitney Marie Keller and three nieces, Kathy, Kristy and Kelly.
