Earl, the oldest of 4 children, lived most of his life in Bates County, where he attended grade school at the Mingo School and graduated with the class of 1947 from Adrian High School. On June 18, 1950 he was united in marriage to Lois Mae Askew and to this union two children were born. During the Korean conflict, Earl served his country in the U. S. Earl had a very deep love and consideration for his family and adored his grandchildren. He loved to attend the senior citizen's dances. His dancing friends were like family and he loved being a part of them. Earl was easy to love and was loved by many. His zest for life seemed to bubble out of him and deeply touched the lives of all he knew. He was a very humble and godly man.
