Earl Lemmer, 94, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Adrian Manor in Adrian, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 5 at the chapel. Burial will be in Brady Cemetery, Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Adrian Manor Nursing Home, 402 West 1st Street, Adrian, MO 64720.
Earl was born May 5, 1918 in Harrisonville, Missouri, the son of George and Cora (Anderson) Lemmer. Earl attended school in Harrisonville and was a 1935 graduate of Harrisonville High School. He married Earline Williams on May 22, 1943 in Butler, Missouri. They had two sons, Gerald Earl Lemmer and Bobby Dean Lemmer.
Earl was a farmer and stockman. He had worked for Davis Bros. Garage in Harrisonville before going to work for Delozier's Lawn and Garden, which he bought and ran for many years. After selling Delozier's, he continued to sell and repair lawn mowers and chain saws at his home, southwest of Harrisonville. Earl was a member of the Grand River Baptist Church. He loved going to country music shows in Louisburg, Kansas and in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of over 50 years, Earline on January 8, 2000, a brother, Frances Lemmer and an infant brother. He is survived by two sons, Jerry Lemmer and wife, Marilyn and Bob Lemmer and wife, Jane, all of Harrisonville, Missouri; 6 grandchildren, Todd Lemmer, Vonda (Lemmer) Savage, Angie (Lemmer) Petersen, Rob Lemmer, Chet Lemmer and Cody Lemmer; many great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
