Douglas Joseph Eckerle, 78, Harrisonville, MO died Friday, October 22, 2010 at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville. Burial and graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Clifton City, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 26 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church, P.O. Doug was born March 8, 1932 in Buffalo Prairie, Cooper County, MO, the son of Frank Joseph and Flora Frances (Larm) Eckerle. He grew up in the Smithton/Clifton, MO area. He attended Lone Elm School and was a graduate of Smithton High School. He moved to Harrisonville in 1967.

Douglas worked for J. E. Dunn Construction Company. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville. He was a member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother. He is survived by one son, Tracy Eckerle and his wife, Tammy of Raymore, MO; one brother, Norman Eckerle, Washington, MO; one sister, Bernadette Shaffer, Lee's Summit, MO and three grandchildren.
