Douglas "Doug" Eugene Blackburn, 36, Harrisonville, MO, died Friday, September 28, 2007 at his home. Funeral services were held Monday, October 01, 2007 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville, MO. Burial was in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.

Doug was born March 5, 1971 at Research Hospital in Kansas City, MO, the son of Richard and Alfreda "Rene" (Hillhouse) Blackburn. Doug graduated from Wentworth High School in Lexington, MO and had served in the U.S. Air Force. He had worked for the International Paper Company as a shipping and receiving clerk. Doug's passion was his children and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading and spending time with his dog, "Bubba".

Doug was preceded in death by his grandparents. He is survived by his parents, Richard and Rene Blackburn, Harrisonville, MO; one son, Alex Blackburn and one daughter, Sarah Blackburn, both of Harrisonville, MO; one brother, Rick Blackburn and his wife, Lona, Harrah, OK; one sister, Melissa "Missy" Ballard and her husband, Jason, Harrisonville, MO.
