Doug Edward Allen, 52 of Belton, MO died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at his home. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO. Cremation.

Doug was born October 7, 1957 in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of John Edward and Cora Belle (Carey) Allen. He was a graduate of Novinger High School in Novinger, MO. He married Sharon Sue Lay on October 18, 1975 in Kirksville, MO.

Doug had lived in Novinger, Kirksville, Archie, Butler and Harrisonville before moving to Belton. Doug worked as a metal fabricator in constructing mobile homes.

Doug was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Mary Southwick. He is survived by his wife, Sharon of the home; one son, Jeremy Allen of Belton, MO; his mother, Cora Alexander of Geneseo, IL; three brothers, John B. Allen of Novinger, MO, Bart Allen and Todd Allen, both of Butler, MO; three sisters, Corla Swan and Vicki Sorensen, both of Colona, IL and Angie Skipworth of Geneseo, IL and one granddaughter, Bailey.
