Doris Rae McVay, 75, Adrian, MO, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at Adrian Manor, Adrian, MO. Funeral services 10:00 AM Saturday, June 16 at Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville, MO, with visitation 9:30-10:00 AM at the chapel. Burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Harrisonville. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Doris was born December 12, 1931, south of Harrisonville, MO, the daughter of Clarence Madison and Josie Abbie (Hess) McVay. She was a 1951 graduate of Archie, MO High School. She moved to Kansas City, MO and graduated from Cosmetology School. Doris worked as a hairdresser in Kansas City for more than 20 years before retiring. She had lived in Adrian for the past several years. She was a Pink Lady with the Cass Medical Center Auxiliary.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, George Elton McVay, two sisters, Helen Colleen Jenkins and Marjorie Jo Bean and one nephew, Dennis Bean. She is survived by one brother, Clarence D. McVay and his wife, Elaine, Harrisonville, MO; one sister, Betty Norton and her husband, Justin, Raytown, MO; sister-in-law, Mary McVay, Archie, MO and many nieces and nephews and friends.
