Doris  L.  Martinette, 95, Archie, MO, died Friday, February 15, 2019 at Mercy One Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa.  Memorial services were held   Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.   Inurnment in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Doris was born August 9, 1923 in North Little Rock, AR, a twin, and the seventh of eight children born to Samuel and Pearl Chloe (Kimsey) Stewart.  While visiting her sister, who lived in Seattle, WA, Doris met Lionel Leon "Lee" Martinette.  They were united in marriage January 17, 1948 in Seattle.

Doris and Lee moved to Archie, MO in 1951. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Lee's Summit, MO.  She was a cook at area restaurants, including Vaughn's Drive- In and the Wagon Wheel in Harrisonville, and the D-Li-My in Archie.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lee, on September 16, 1993, two grandchildren,  Candida Sue Martinette, and Jason Kruid, two brothers,  and five sisters.  She is survived by two sons, Rod (Jeanette) Martinette, Chattanooga, TN,  and Don (Karen) Martinette, Drexel, MO; four daughters, Celeste Martinette, Kansas City, MO, Janet (Daniel) Blackmon, Holden,  MO, Jill (Rip) Matejka, Morrison,  IA,  and  Carrie Martinette, Harrisonville, MO;  14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
