Doris Louise Goddard, 84, Cleveland, MO, died Thursday, February 21, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.  Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 26 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO, with a private family burial  in Glenwild Cemetery, Cleveland.  Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.

Doris was born May 24, 1934 in Somerset, KS, the daughter of Oliver H. and Mildred Louise (Scott) Fort.  She was a graduate of Freeman High School.  She married the love of her life, Perry Eugene Goddard, on January 12, 1952 in Drexel, MO.  Doris worked as a cook for Cass Midway High School until retiring in 1981.  She was a life-long resident of West Line, MO and was a member of the Freeman Baptist Church.  She was also a member of the Eastern Star in Freeman.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Linda Louise Hager.  She is survived by her husband, Gene, of the home; three sons, Darrel E. Goddard (Christy), Freeman, Perry Alan Goddard (Denise), Cleveland, and Chris L. Goddard (Karla), Freeman; one daughter, Gwenna K. Baker (Chuck), Cleveland; son-in-law, Rick Hager, Freeman; two brothers, Ronald Fort(Lois), Cleveland, MO and Billy Joe Fort(Bobbie), Freeman; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
