Obituary

Donovan "Don" Arthur Eberle, 87, Freeman, Missouri, died Thursday, December 25, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri with visitation from 10:00-11:00. Burial will be in Freeman Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Salvation Army.

Don was born June 11, 1927 in Neosho, Missouri, the son of Harry and Nan Alice (Mason) Eberle. He married Lois Milleson on April 11, 1947 in Columbus, Kansas. Don was a WWII and Korean War Navy veteran. He received his BS in Architectural Engineering from Kansas State University and was a Project Engineer for Black & Veatch for 33 years before retiring in 1991. He had lived in Belton, Missouri before moving to Freeman in 1970. He was a member of the Freeman Lions Club and had served on the Cass-Midway School Board. He was a Republican Committeeman for Cass County, a member of the American Legion, a past member of the AOPA, and the Christian Church in Anderson, Missouri.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and two daughters, Debra and Donna. He is survived by his wife, Lois, of the home; two sons, Dan R. Eberle and Douglas A. Eberle and his wife, Laura, all of Freeman, Missouri; one daughter, Deena L. Rancier and her husband, Jon, Henderson, Nevada; one sister, Ruth A. Koca, Wichita, Kansas; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews from the McDonald County area.
