IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donna Jean
Senior
October 20, 1928 – November 24, 2019
Donna Jean Senior, 91, Harrisonville, MO, loving wife and mother of five daughters, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2019 at her home. A Visitation was held Wednesday, November 27 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with a graveside service following at Orient Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wayside Waifs.
Donna was born October 20, 1928 in Plattsmouth, NE, a daughter of Walter and Agnes (Blunt) Burk. She was the oldest of three children with two brothers, Patrick and William Burk. She attended Plattsmouth Nebraska High School. Her wisdom was years beyond her educational level. She was very active in her life and had many talents and hobbies: fishing, gardening and canning food. As a family, we would ride horses, go fishing, and she could also play piano as well as sing and dance beautifully. Every year she would put out a grand garden and taught her girls the importance of eating healthy. She was the primary caretaker while Dad worked on the road to provide for the family.
She went to beauty school and became a beauty operator and owner of her own beauty shop, "Donna's Beauty Boutique". She also had a real talent as a great cook and opened her own café, "Donna's Dinner", in Belton, MO, which she ran for years. Donna is what we call a "super mom". She was a great role model to her five daughters. She taught them that they could be or do anything in life if they put their mind to it, and all you need is drive, endurance and knowledge. She took care of her family with her whole being, gave her all to her family, and she will be truly missed and never forgotten. Mom, we love you dearly.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Patrick Burk, and two daughters, Kellie Dyke and Lora Senior. She will be remembered by her husband of 61 years, Don Senior "Senior"; daughters, Lisa Reed, Kerrie Stober, and Nancie Willis. She was also blessed with three grandchildren, Pedro and William Villanueva, and Miranda Willis, and two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Nolan Villanueva, all of which were the apple of her eyes. The love for them was like a bright and shining star.
