Donald Eugene Unnewehr, 78, East Lynne, MO, formerly Harrisonville, MO, died Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Foxwood Springs Living Center in Raymore, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 30 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, with visitation from 1:00-2:00. Burial will follow in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, MO. Don was born February 8, 1939 in Harrisonville, MO, the son of Henry William and Opal Myrtle (Hoenshell) Unnewehr. He attended Elm Branch #57 rural school from 1945-1950 and was a graduate of Archie High School.

Don was a U.S. Army veteran. He married Carolyn Irene Tribby on September 6, 1969 at the South Fork Baptist Church in Freeman. Don worked for Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, MO. He later went to work for Sioux Chief Manufacturing in Peculiar, retiring in 2002. Don also farmed and drove a school bus for the Harrisonville Schools. He also enjoyed gardening. Don was a member of Church of God.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Harold Unnewehr, and one sister, Rose Marie Jones. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of the home; one son, Cheston Unnewehr, Harrisonville, MO.
