Donald Eugene Shipley, 87, Archie, MO died Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at his home in the Amarugia Highlands, West of Archie. Memorial services were held June 1, 2018 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.  Contributions may be made to the Everett Cemetery Association.

Don was born June 28, 1930 on the family farm in Amarugia, one of ten children born to Oren Homer and Martha Maggie (Plattner) Shipley. He was a lifelong Amarugia resident. Don was united in marriage to Peggy Ann Goddard, October 10, 1948 at the home of Rev. Joe Brewster, near Harrisonville, MO.

Don was a farmer all of his life and also operated a bulldozer and crane for Limpus Quarry at Main City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lyle and Oren Jr. and six sisters, Orma, Opal, Catherine, Loretta, Mildred, and Betty.

Don is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann Shipley, of the home, a son, Billy Joe Shipley(Teola-Rea), Archie. Two daughters, Donna Jean Peirce, Archie, and Deborah Ann Smith (Keith Lilly), Lee's Summit, MO. One brother, Lester Shipley, Lee's Summit, and nine grandchildren, twenty- two great-grandchildren , and two great-great-grandchildren.
