Donald Wayne Leimkuhler, 76, Harrisonville, MO, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, MO. Memorial graveside services were held Monday, August 3, 2020, at Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, MO. A Masonic service, under the direction of Cass Lodge #147, was held Monday, August 3, 2020, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.
Don was born July 11, 1944 in Harrisonville, MO, a son of George Julius and Edith Francis (Fields) Leimkuhler. He was a lifelong Harrisonville resident and a 1962 graduate of Harrisonville High School. Don married Connie Rinker on January 4, 1964 by Rev. Joe Brewster at the Freeman Baptist Church. Don worked at U. S. Post Office in Harrisonville for 28 ½ years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Harrisonville. He was a member of Cass Masonic Lodge No. 147 AF&AM, Harrisonville, and the Ararat Shrine Temple in Kansas City, MO and the Ole Cars Unit. He was a member of the Cass County Shrine Club and the American Postal Workers Union.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George Leimkuhler. He is survived by his wife, Connie, of the home; two daughters, Theresa Geer and LaDonna Bratten, both of Harrisonville, MO; one brother, Larry Leimkuhler, Elkland, MO and three grandchildren.
