Donald Dean Clawson, Sr., 66, Harrisonville, MO, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2008 in Nevada, MO, surrounded by family. Funeral services 10:00 AM Friday, November 14, 2008 at the Atkinson Chapel, in Harrisonville, MO. Burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Visitation 6:00-7:00 PM Thursday, November 13 at the chapel. Don was born March 30, 1942 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Harold and Evelyn (Crosby) Clawson. He married Barbara I. Gopsill on October 11, 1964 in Asbury Park, NJ.

Don was an Army veteran. He worked at Pitman Manufacturing for several years before going to MoDOT, Missouri Department of Transportation, where he worked for 22 years before retiring in March, 2006.

Don was a lifelong Cass County, MO resident, living in Harrisonville for the past 40 years. He was a member of the Raymore Presbyterian Church.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Donald Dean Clawson, Jr. on March 19, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara, of the home; one son, Tom Clawson and his wife, Terry, Garden City, MO; two brothers, John Clawson and his wife, Marilyn, Cleveland, MO and Delbert Clawson and his wife, Susie, Joplin, MO; three sisters, Juanita Pilcher and her husband, Terry, Nadine Hyder and her husband, Denny and Helen Womack and her husband, Rick, all of Nevada, MO and six grandchildren.
