DeWayne "George" Lalicker, 76, Seneca, MO, died Tuesday, September 12, 2006 Freeman Neosho Hospital in Neosho, MO. Graveside services were held Friday, September 15 at Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, MO, officiated by Rev. David Irwin, Freeman Presbyterian Church. Contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association. (Arrangements were under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville, MO).
DeWayne was born December 21, 1929 in Freeman, MO, the son of Guy S. and Sammie Lou (Smith) Lalicker. DeWayne attended school in Freeman and was a graduate of Freeman High School. He had lived in Lake Lotawana and Independence, MO for 30 years before moving to Seneca.
DeWayne worked for the U.S. Postal Service, was an over-the-road truck driver and retired in 1996 from Geiger Ready-Mix. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #41. After his retirement, DeWayne enjoyed extensive traveling. He was a US Army veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post 499, Blue Springs, MO. He was a former member of the Masonic Order and Ararat Shrine.
DeWayne was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Vern Lalicker and Earl Lalicker and one son, Ricky DeWayne Lalicker. He is survived by three children, Sandra Groth and her husband, Kim, Seneca, MO, Terry Lalicker and his wife, Cindy, Lake Lotawana, MO and Darrell Lalicker and his wife, Cheryl, Independence, MO; two sisters, Dorothy Rodier and her husband, Joe, Freeman, MO and Anna Nafus and her husband, Bill, California; one brother, Eddie Lalicker and his wife, Linda, Tulsa, OK; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
