DeVora Grace McKinsey, 84, Harrisonville, MO, died Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Cass Medical Center, Harrisonville. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 2, 2008 at the Church of Christ in Harrisonville. Contributions may be made to the church.

DeVora was born December 4, 1923 in Easton, KS, the daughter of Lloyd and Hertha (Nut) Coberly. She married Mervin Ross McKinsey in 1941 in Soldier, KS.

DeVora worked for nursing homes as a nurse's assistant and had also worked as a waitress. She enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts, including crocheting and cross stitching. DeVora was an excellent seamstress and made many of the family clothes. One of her hobbies was collecting teddy bears. DeVora had a great sense of humor.

DeVora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mervin in 1963 and two sisters, Velma and Bently. She is survived by her children, Adrienne Hire, Harrisonville, MO, David McKinsey, Chadworth, CA, Kedrick "Rick" McKinsey, Shawnee, KS, Bradley McKinsey, Albuquerque, NM and Bently McKinsey, Topeka, KS; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
