Dennis O'Dale Moles, 78 Harrisonville, Missouri, died Friday, February 27, 2015 at his home with his family near, as he had hoped for, and with help from Blessed Trinity Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Trinity Hospice, 1626 East Elm Street, Harrisonville, MO 64701.
Daddy was born July 7, 1936 in Butler, Mo the eldest son of Arthur Alvis and Leona Mildred (Corwine) Moles. He grew up in mid and southern area of Cass County. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Navy from 1954-1958.
On November 1, 1957 he wed Verla Mae Chapman. They had four children and enjoyed a rural life together. He retired from the Ford Claycomo Plant in 1999 as a union pipe fitter and was a member of the U.A.W. Local 249. Dennis was a member of the V.F.W. Post 4409 and American Legion Post 0042. He actively attended and enjoyed the Grand River Baptist Church. Dennis was a down-home country boy. He enjoyed the farm, the crops, the cattle, good equipment and nice tractors.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Earl Moles, and one daughter-in-law, Cindy Moles. He leaves one son, Clint Moles of Harrisonville, Mo; two daughters, Brenda Carney (Dan) of Osceola, Mo and Marsha Miller (Randy) of Freeman, Mo; three brothers, Daymond Moles of Harrisonville, Mo, Larry Moles of Garden City, Mo and Keith Moles of Pleasant Hill, Mo; one sister, Bea Perdue of Harrisonville, Mo; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
