Deana Faye Reece, 59, Terre Haute, IN, formerly of Harrisonville, MO, died Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Terre Haute Regional Medical Center in Terre Haute, Indiana. Graveside services were held Friday, August 31, 2018 at Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville. Contributions may be made to the Humane Society, American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
Deana was born January 15, 1959 in Harrisonville, MO, the daughter of Kenneth Wayne and Patricia Louise (Walker) Reece. She was a 1977 graduate of Harrisonville High School and received a bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO and attended the University of Iowa for two years. Deana was the first ever winner from Missouri to receive the VFW Voice of Democracy contest from Harrisonville High School.
Deana worked for WTWO television news channel in Terre Haute, IN as a news producer. She won an Emmy for one of her news broadcasts that she had produced.
Deana was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by one sister, Belinda Hansen (Jon), Spring Branch, TX; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Love, Harrisonville, MO, Justin Hansen (fiancée, Patricia Peterson) Spring Branch, TX, Joshua Hansen, Olathe, KS, Jon Michael Hansen, Gardner, KS, Jace Hansen (Katie), Gardner, KS, and Jordan Elizabeth Hansen, Gladstone, MO; great-nieces and nephews, Katelynn, Zachary, Victoria, Kayla, Karly, Savannah, Taiven, Brynlee, and Colbie, and one great-great-nephew, Liam.
