David Byron King, 65, Racket, MO, passed away Monday, January 27, 2020 in Clinton, MO. Funeral services were held Friday, January 31, 2020 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. Burial in Wills Cemetery, Peculiar, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
David was born December 28, 1954 in Harrisonville, MO, a son of Lowell Earl and Le Orra (Glover) King. He grew up in Peculiar, MO and was a 1972 graduate of Raymore-Peculiar High School. David married the love of his life, Cheryl Coday on May 12, 1973. He retired from Honeywell in 2014 as a plastic fabricator and was a member of the CWA Local 6355, Kansas City, MO. He enjoyed many things in life. He loved to travel. He spent every year of his children's lives traveling cross country camping everywhere they went. He took several cruises with both his wife and his in-laws. David most recently partook in his true love, fishing with his friends in the spring and summer, and putting puzzles together in the winter. He was a professional tinkerer! He worked as the maintenance man for the Blueberry Ridge RV & Mobile Home Park where they lived.
David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Jean King, of the home; one son, Brian King and his wife, Jennifer, Blue Springs, MO, along with their children, Brad, Peyton, and Owen; one daughter, Denise Connelly and her husband, Shea, Raymore, MO, along with their children, Caden and Kaylee; one brother, Wayne King and his wife, Mary, Blue Springs, MO, and their children, as well as many more extended family and friends.
