David Lee Hestand, 76, Peculiar, MO, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020 at his home.  A private family burial was held Tuesday in Peculiar, MO Cemetery.

David was born June 9, 1943 in Vinita, OK, the son of Oscar L. and Gladys Irene (Jarvis) Hestand.  He was a 1961 graduate of Grandview High School.  He had lived in Belton before moving to Peculiar where he had lived for 49 years.  David married Naomi Zollman on October 20, 1962.  He had worked as a heavy equipment mechanic, retiring in 2009, and was a member of the Teamsters Local #541.  He was a member of Fellowship Raymore Church.

David was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife, Naomi Hestand, of the home; two sons, David L. "Butch" Hestand, Jr., Peculiar, MO and Donnie C. Hestand (Dianna), Archie, MO; one daughter, Jeanne S. Burgin (T.J.), Garden City, MO; one sister, Bertha Ianniello (Rick), Raymore, MO; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
