Danny Ray Poe, 56, Garden City, MO, died Sunday, April 8, 2007 after battling a long and hard fight with muscular dystrophy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 13, 2007 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville, MO. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Latour, MO. Visitation is from 6:00-7:30 PM Thursday, April 12 at the chapel.
Danny was born March 17, 1951 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Clyde Raymond and Mary Ann (Cook) Poe. He was a graduate of Ruskin High School. Danny married Mary Ann Brown on April 11, 1969 in Kansas City, MO.
Danny owned his own company, working as a drywall installer. He had lived in the Kansas City, MO area most of his life. He lived in Raytown, MO for 18 years before moving to Garden City. Danny enjoyed cars and watching drag racing.
Danny is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, of the home; four sons, Daniel Thomas Poe and wife, Christy, Harrisonville, MO, Thomas Andrew Poe, Independence, MO, Andrew Michael Poe, Independence, MO and Michael James Poe and wife, Marcey, Garden City, MO; his parents, Clyde and Mary Ann Poe, Warsaw, MO; two brothers, Randy Michael Poe and wife, Lynette, Warsaw, MO and Paul Steven Poe and wife, Karen, Chandler, TX; one sister, Shelly Dea Horner, St. Charles, MO and nine beloved grandchildren, Bridgette, Drew, Anthony, Jessica, Ashley, Alexis, Adrianna, Luke and Jeffrey.
