Obituary

Daniel W. Funk, 53, Cleveland, Missouri, died Sunday, July 29, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 31 at the chapel. Burial will be in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, Missouri. Daniel was born October 6, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of William and Helen (Cherry) Funk. He graduated from Grandview High School and resided in Belton, Missouri for several years, later settling in Cleveland, Missouri.

Daniel was employed as an aircraft cabinetry technician and supervisor at Central Airmotive in Clinton, Missouri for 12 years, and previously had worked at Duncan Aviation in Lincoln, Nebraska and KCAC in Olathe, Kansas. Daniel was an outdoorsman who loved hiking and wildlife. He was a craftsman and an artist. He will be greatly missed by family and friends, always loved and forever held dear.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Michael and Alex. He is survived by his wife, Diane Funk, of the home; two daughters, Heather Fielder and son-in-law, Brian Fielder and Kylie Funk, all of Cleveland, Missouri; one brother, Troy Funk, Jefferson City, Missouri; two sisters, Phyllis Henley (Ralph), California, Missouri and Sharon Burris (Larry), Conway, South Carolina; one grandson, Justin Fielder, Cleveland, Missouri, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
