Murl "Dale" Wiskur, 88, Harrisonville, MO, died Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 13 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, MO. Friends may call from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 12 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Crescent Hill Cemetery.
Dale was born June 12, 1928 in Lebo,Kansas. He was one of eleven children born to Nicholas Edward Wiskur and Anna Pearl (Lafferty) Wiskur. Dale was united in marriage to Nannie Rose Harrison from LaMonte, Missouri on November 3, 1951. They shared 65 harvests together as husband and wife.
Dale's life revolved around his family and farming. After their marriage, he and Nannie farmed for a number of years in Kansas before purchasing their family farm in 1963, where they raised five children together. Dale loved auctions, John Deere tractors, raising cattle, harvesting crops, mushroom hunting, music and playing cards. He enjoyed many years of dancing with his lovely wife, Nannie. Most of all, he loved being surrounded by family and friends. He deeply believed his children and grandchildren are the true meaning of everlasting life.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nannie, of the home; his five children, William Wiskur (Pam), Harrisonville, Missouri, Raymond Wiskur (Nardene), Butler, Missouri, Donna Peterson (Gene), Drexel, Missouri, Faye McVay (Gene), Archie, Missouri and Russell Wiskur (Denise), Adrian, Missouri; one sister, Dorothy Kohake, Florida; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.
