Cynthia Gaye Downen, 78, Harrisonville, MO, died Friday, March 23, 2018 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville.  No services are scheduled.

Cynthia was born May 18, 1939 in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Gaylord and Esther Jeanette (Elbourn) Stucker.  She had lived in Mission, KS, Kansas City, KS, and Sedalia, MO, before moving to Harrisonville in 1966.  Cynthia was a graduate of Shawnee Mission, KS High School and had received an Associate's Degree from Kansas City Community College.  She married Calvin R. Schock, Sr. In November, 1982.  Cynthia had worked for the Harrisonville Cass R-IX Schools as a custodian for over 22 years before retiring in 2001.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill, MO.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Sierra Gaunt.  She is survived by her husband, Calvin, of the home; one son, Drew Downen (Jessica), Pleasant Hill, MO; one daughter, Michelle Downen-Streit (Steve), Harrisonville, MO; 4 grandchildren, Garrett Streit, Baylee Streit, both of Harrisonville, Dustin Thompson (Julia), Pleasant Hill, MO, and Corey Gaunt (Maree), Olathe, KS; and 3 great-grandchildren, Bentley Thompson, Myla Thompson, and Lincoln Thompson.
