Connie Lynne Newport, 72, of Adrian, MO passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023 at her home. A visitation was held  Thursday, April 20, 2023 at  the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian, MO.  Graveside services were held Friday, April 21, 2023  at the Holmes Cemetery in Prescott, KS.

Connie was born November 15, 1950 to Sherman "Arthur" and Margie June (Evans) Brittingham in Butler, MO. She attended Butler High School and was a graduate with the Class of 1968. She married the love of her life, Edward Eugene Newport, on July 31, 1971, and to this union they had four sons: Scott, James, Travis, and Bradley. Connie held down the important job of "mom" for many years. When she was able to she enjoyed spending time doing things she loved, mainly going to bingo and doing crotchet. Connie was also a long time member of the Altona Women's Club. The one thing that Connie loved most was spending time with her grandchildren.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her sons: Scott Newport of St. Joseph, MO; James (Erin) Newport of Adrian, MO; Travis Newport of Adrian, MO; and Bradley Newport of Butler, MO; her grandchildren: Domonic Newport, Chase Newport, Dalton (Hannah) Newport, Trevor Newport, Kaitlyn Newport, Shelby Newport, and Presley Newport; her brothers: Roy Brittingham, Steven Brittingham, Randy Brittingham, and Sherman Brittingham; her sisters: Wanda Griffin, Pamela Brittingham, and Donna Tenholder; and a host of nieces and nephews.
