Clyde Junior Crook, 77, of Harrisonville, Missouri died Friday, June 4, 2010 at The Rehabilitation Center Of Raymore, Raymore, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Burial will be in the Glenwild Cemetery, Cleveland, Missouri. A visitation will be held Monday, June 7, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimers Association.
Junior was born July 29, 1932 in rural Freeman, Missouri, a son of Oran Clyde and Grace May (Goddard) Crook. Junior was a life long Cass County resident. He was united in marriage to Olive Marie "Sue" Diamond on November 3, 1950.
Junior was one of the best fiddle players in this part of the country. He had toured with Tex Ritter, and he played at several of the local radio stations and at many clubs and establishments. When his children were old enough, he played music with them and his brother, Bud.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Olive "Sue" Crook, of the home; four sons, John Crook, Raymore, MO, David Crook, Kansas City, KS, Jay Crook, Kansas City, MO, and Joe Crook, Fontana, KS; two brothers, Joe Crook, Archie, MO, and Oran "Bud" Crook, Rich Hill, MO; eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Stacy, Joanie, Amanda, Josh, Jake, James, and Grace; eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
