Obituary
Claude Eugene "Gene" New, 90, Drexel, MO, died Friday, January 19, 2007 at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, MO. Funeral services are Tuesday, January 23 at the Atkinson Chapel, Adrian, MO. Burial will be in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian.
Claude was born August 19, 1916 in Madison County, Iowa, the son of Charlie C. and Virgie (Brewer) New. He married Ella Elizabeth Stevens on August 30, 1941 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Claude was a graduate of Archie High School. He was longtime area resident. Claude worked as a farmer all of his life.
Claude was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Ella, of the home; one son, Dennis New, Louisburg, KS; two granddaughters, Melissa Ware, Honolulu, Hawaii and Theresa New, Peculiar, MO; two great-grandchildren, Joshua Ware and Sasha Ware, both of Honolulu, Hawaii; other relatives and friends.
