Claude Lee Bollinger, 76, of Harrisonville, Missouri died Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. Claude was born April 6, 1933 in Bell City, Missouri, a son of Henry and Nellie Bollinger. Claude grew up in the Bell City area and was a graduate of Bell City High School.
Claude was a career Army Veteran, served in Vietnam, and retired in 1971 as a Master Sargent. He had lived in Mobile, Alabama before moving to Harrisonville in 1989.
He was united in marriage to Alice Ridenhour on March 13, 2006.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Bollinger, of the home, two daughters, Carol Mott and Phyllis Bowden, both of Sarahland, Alabama, two sisters, Anna Bell, California City, California, and Wanda Dunn, Sulfer Springs, Texas. Two stepsons, Jeff Smith, Shawnee Mission, Kansas and Scot Smith, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Many grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service , with full military honors, will be held at a later date at the Tillman Cemetery, Advance, Missouri.
