Obituary

Clarence Wayne Hook, 87, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 26 , 2021.  A private family service is planned at St. Thomas More Church, followed by a military burial at Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, MO. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Clarence was one of fifteen children, born at the family farm in Peculiar, Cass County, MO, to Grover Cleveland Hook and Mary Elmeda (Downs) Hook.  Clarence served in the Air Force during the Korean War.   He started his civilian career working for Jones Truck Line, and eventually went on to start his own company, Hookamper, Inc., manufacturing campers, travel trailers and house trailers.

Clarence is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Theresa Maria (Brunner) Hook; and son, Frederick Wayne Hook; second wife, Rita Rose (Lopez) Hook; and twelve of his siblings.  Survivors include daughter, Theresa Hook Barton; son-in-law, George Barton; grandchildren: Margo Barton, Lauren Barton Kaufman and Trevor Kaufman; great grandchildren: Milo and Sylvie Kaufman; sisters: Rosemary Pulliam and Lois Swearengin; and a wealth of extended family.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the attentive caregivers from SEVA Home Health, his much-loved caregivers and friends at Senior Care Homes, and his comforting end of life care givers from Ascend Hospice Care.
