Clara Lucille "Lucy" Ferrou, 86 of Harrisonville, MO died Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 13 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Harrisonville. Visitation 6:00-7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 12 at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harrisonville VFW Auxiliary #4409, 1804 North Commercial, Harrisonville, MO 64701.
Lucy was born April 28, 1924 in Garden City, MO, the daughter of Gustav Wilhelm Gottlieb and Anna Fredricka Karoline (Kochsmeier) Tieman. She married Marvin John Ferrou on May 10, 1947 in Olathe, KS.
Lucy was a lifelong Harrisonville resident. She owned Three Acres restaurant in Harrisonville for several years and had worked at the VFW club room for many years. She was well known for her "Lucy Burgers". She was a very active member and past president of the Harrisonville VFW Auxiliary Post 4409. She liked to play bingo and pool, play cards, bowling and looking at family pictures. She also liked going to the boats. She enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marvin on May 30, 1983, three brothers, Raymond, Lee Roy and Robert and three sisters, Esther, Aleen and Rita. She is survived by one son, Gary Ferrou of Houston, MO; two granddaughters, Alecia Crain of Liberty, MO and Shanna Brown of Weston, MO and four great-grandchildren, Jordan Riley and Trevor Crain and Jacob and Joshua Brown.
