Christopher "Chris" Ray Ames, 43, Peculiar, MO, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital of Kansas City, in Kansas City, MO.  Funeral services were held Monday, June 14, 2021 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.  Burial   in Garden City Cemetery in Garden City, MO.

Chris was born August 11, 1977 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Larry and Patricia (Hermon) Ames.  He was a life-long resident of Peculiar, MO and was a graduate of Raymore-Peculiar High School.  Chris was a self-employed painter, and had worked as a painter for Billy Bob Painting in Lee's Summit, Garry's Painting in Peculiar and Larry's Painting in Grandview, MO.  Chris was a member of the Harrisonville Community Center.

Chris was preceded in death by his father, his uncle Garry, and his grandparents.  He is survived by a daughter, Mandelyn Ames, Peculiar, MO and her half-brother, Jacoby Johnson; his mother, Patricia Ames, Peculiar; a brother, Tom Ames, Belton, MO and his half-sisters, Bobbie Carson and Robin Ames.
