Cheryl Kay Garrett, 52, Harrisonville, MO, died Friday, May 18, 2007 at her home. Funeral services 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 22 at the Faith Baptist Church, Harrisonville. Burial will be in Gentry Cemetery, Quincy, MO. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, May 21 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
Cheryl was born June 22, 1954 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Forrest L. and Mary Faye (Wilson) Garrett. Cheryl had lived in Harrisonville since 1968. She was a 1972 graduate of Harrisonville High School and attended Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, MO. She worked at Snyder and Swopes Optometry for the past twenty-three years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Harrisonville for many years, moved her membership to Faith Baptist Church and was very committed to her church family.
Cheryl will be remembered very fondly as a wonderful friend and a good listener. She was dedicated to her family and friends and always ready to lend a helping hand. Cheryl had a great sense of humor and a loving heart and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Glover and Kathryn Wilson, her mother, Mary Faye Garrett and her paternal grandparents, Orbin and Sylvia Garrett. She is survived by her father, Forrest; her sister Sidonie; uncles and aunts, Bill and Ruth Ann Hash, Don and Norma Calvert, Wanda DeBord and Juanita Garrett and her cousins, Wendell and Kay Wilson, Robert and Kathy Alpers, Paul and Carolyn Jett, Charlie and Kathy Calvert, Brian and Shelly Hash, Larry and Denise Garrett and Mark and Dianna Walter.
