Charlotte Ann Compton, 83, Harrisonville, Missouri, entered into eternal life on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Lee's Summit Medical Center in Lee's Summit, Missouri, after suffering a stroke. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri with burial at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the King City Cemetery in King City, Missouri. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 24 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Charlotte was born April 22, 1929 in Stanberry, Missouri, the daughter of Benjamin Eugene and Flossie Celina (Heflin) Martin. She grew up in the Stanberry area. Charlotte married Hobert Eugene Boner in 1945 and had two children, Barbara Jean and Virgil John. On August 23, 1952, Charlotte married Russell Evan Compton. They were married for 57 years until Russell died in 2009.

She held many positions throughout the years and retired at the age of 80 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville. She was a member of the Harrisonville United Methodist Church and was a past member of Eastern Star. Charlotte had a flair for fashion and make-up and high heels were a must! She loved life and her family and lived each day to the fullest. She will be greatly missed.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, two siblings, one son, John and her husband, Russell who died in 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Worthley and her husband, Jim, Harrisonville, Missouri; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
