Charles "Chuck" William Simmons, 65, of Raymore, MO passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at his home. Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.  Interment, with military honors, in Orient Cemetery  Harrisonville, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lord of Love Lutheran Church, Belton, MO.

Chuck was born on August 17, 1957 in Paola, KS, to Glen and Carol (Hocker) Simmons. Chuck graduated from Harrisonville High School with the Class of 1975 and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from Baker University, graduating in 1996 with Cum Laude Honors. After high school, he served in the United States Air Force from 1976 - 1980. He spent his career as a Claims Manager, working 38 years for Farmers Insurance before retiring in 2019.

Chuck married Ramona "Mona" Johnson on June 9, 1979 in Austin, TX. The couple had 3 children: David, John, and Jenifer. Although he was raised in Harrisonville, he also lived in Austin, TX; Belton, MO; Kansas City, MO; Overland Park, KS; and Grand Rapids, MI; before settling in Raymore, MO. He was a member of Lord of Love Lutheran Church, where he previously taught Sunday School and led youth group. He was also known for playing guitar and enjoyed his time playing in a rock band in high school.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Mona of the home; his children: David (Laura) Simmons of Louisburg, KS; John (Mary) Simmons of Belton, MO; and Jenifer Shepard of Springfield, MO; his 6 grandchildren: Nathan Simmons, Brandon Simmons, Sam Tyner, Marshall Tyner, Aidan Shepard, and Addison Shepard; one great-grandchild on the way; his brother, Allen (Karen) Simmons of Belton, MO; and his sister, Shelley (Greg) McMurray of Tightwad, MO.
