Charles "Chuck" Alexander Powell, 69 of Peculiar, MO died Saturday, June 26, 2010 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Masonic services/Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO.

Chuck was born June 17, 1941 in Ardmore, MO the son of Harry and Hazel (Teter) Powell. He married Betty Lou Richardson on July 8, 1971 in Kansas City. Chuck lived in Kansas City before moving to Peculiar in 1978.

Chuck was a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked for Associated Wholesale Grocers in Kansas City, KS as a truck driver for 17 ½ years before retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #955. In 1976 he became a member of Orient Lodge #546 located in Kansas City, MO and a Master of the lodge in 1985. Upon his passing Chuck was a member of Temple Gate Lodge #299 in Kansas City.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister. He is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; two daughters, Charlene Powell of Peculiar, MO and Deanna Powell of Archie, MO and four grandchildren, Dylan Powell, Morgan Geyer, Mattie Geyer and Miles Geyer.
