Box 322, Adrian, MO 64720.

Charles was born September 21, 1923, near Freeman, MO, the son of Franklin and Sarah "Addie" (Stark) Maloney. His childhood and early adulthood was spent helping his grandfather farm and also helping to care for his grandparents until their passing.

On September 1, 1950, Charles married Joan Phillips of Pleasant Hill, MO. In 1953, they moved from Freeman to their farm near Adrian, where he spent the rest of his life. As a child, Charles attended the Freeman Presbyterian Church. He was the township assessor for many years and he was a charter member of the Adrian Optimist Club.

Charles loved visiting with friends and relatives, but didn't always get to do as much visiting as he would have liked because his farming had to come first. He did not hunt or fish but he loved the outdoors. He loved to watch quail, deer and other wildlife and always made sure to share his findings of a covey of quail or a soaring hawk or whatever else he might see with Joan and Janice.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Adrian, an infant son, Gerald and an infant great-grandson, Nicholas. He is survived by his wife, Joan of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Terry Winn of Archie, MO; three grandchildren, Scott Winn of Newton, IA, Stacy Winn of Branson, MO and Shawna and husband Jary Boger of Newton, IA and four great-grandchildren, Holly Winn, Cody McGee, Hanna Boger and Jessica Boger. Charles will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by many family, friends and relatives.
