Obituary

Charles Kimble, 70, of Joplin, MO, passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at his home.  Funeral services were held  Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian, MO.   Burial  in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian.  Memorial contributions may be made to VFW.

Charles was born on January 18, 1949 in Kansas City, KS to Elbert Dale and Betty Ann (Shelton) Kimble, the oldest of four children.  Charles was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served with distinction and honor as a Marine before returning home and starting a family.  The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Marines never left him as friends or family will attest.  After Vietnam, Charles began his family after meeting his first wife, Rachel Kennedy and having his first child, Erica Tiffany.  Though the marriage ended in divorce, the love and care he carried through to the end.  Charles then married Regina Urone and spent many wonderful years as a family with the birth of his son, Jonathan Eugene and daughter, Jessica Ann.  He was most proud of his children.

Charles has been a prominent figure in the community and in the lives of everyone he associated with or was connected to, whether you are rubbing shoulders with him at the local pub, fat and happy, or having a cold one on his patio, enjoying the warm weather.  You could feel the love, passion and genuine care for others.  He always enjoyed teaching his kids grandkids, nieces, nephews, anything and everything he thought might benefit them.  When he wasn't immersed in his family, he enjoyed spending time with his many friends throughout the community or relaxing in his camper.

Charles had a very large family.  In terms of his own personal one, his extended family reached even further throughout the United States.  Staying in touch with family, both immediate and extended, was of the utmost importance.  Charles had a passion of travel and having a career as an over the road truck driver.  Even after retirement he took the chance to travel, experience the beauty of nature, and visit with friends or family as often as he could.  Even though traveling was important to him, Charles always returned and preferred to be at his little corner of the world;  his property, which he was very proud of and lived his days after retirement in peace and happiness.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elbert Dale and mother, Betty Ann, and wife, Regina Kimble.  He is survived by his children, Erica Kimble Meyer (Jesse) of Yellowstone National Park WY, Jonathan Kimble of Kimberling City MO, and Jessica Kimble (Patrick) of Joplin MO;. 5 grandchildren, Tiffany Hunter (Brandon) of Joplin, Toby Pederson (Claire) of Flagstaff AZ, Levi Pederson, Joplin, and Delaney Pederson, Joplin; unborn granddaughter of Joplin; 3 great-grandchildren, Eli, Evan, and unborn great-granddaughter of Joplin; sister, Joyce Harrison Terry of Joplin; brother, Duane Kimble Jane of Saint Joseph MO; brother, Robert Kimble Etta of Bixby, OK, and a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and great-nephews.
