Charles Duane "Bud" Cornelius, 76, Archie, MO, died Monday, February 25, 2008 at home. Funeral services 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Atkinson Chapel, Archie, Missouri. Visitation 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the chapel. Interment Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, Missouri. Contributions to the Salvation Army.

Bud was born March 5, 1931 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Fred Oliver and Frances Nettie (Reeves) Cornelius. Bud was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Reed on September 11, 1982.

Bud was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He lived in Kansas City before moving to Archie. He was a past member of the Butler, Missouri Masonic Lodge. Bud worked as a mechanic for Deems Farm Equipment in Butler and for Stanley Equipment in Stanley, KS before retiring in 1994. He enjoyed ranching, farming, fishing, camping and watching his grandkids play sports.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Casey Cornelius; and a granddaughter, Mindy McDonnell. He is survived by his wife, Beverly, of the home; four sons, Cary Cornelius and wife, Tammara, Archie, Kelly Cornelius and wife, Mary, Raymore, MO, Dennis Laughlin and wife, Linda, Archie, Mitchell Laughlin and wife, Robbie, Springfield, MO; two daughters, Randalyn McDonnell and husband, Dean, Archie, and Drenda Enos, Adrian; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Cornelius, Springfield, MO; 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
