Charlene Reynolds, 81, Newton, KS, formerly of Harrisonville, MO, died Thursday, May 12, 2011 in Newton, KS. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO. (Cremation).

Charlene was born August 5, 1929 in Noel, MO, the daughter of Charlie G. and Pearl E. (Harner) Kennedy. She married Leslie R. Reynolds on February 20, 1948.

Charlene worked as the manager of Ridgewood Hills Apartments in Harrisonville for eight years until her illness. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Harrisonville, MO. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, reading romance novels, crossword puzzles and most important was her family and grandchildren.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 47 years, Leslie on November 5, 1989, a baby boy, Robert Michael, two sisters, Lueveta Lairmore and Dorthy Burger. She is survived by one daughter, Paula Reynolds-Freeman, Grandview, MO; one sister, Bonnie Schrag, Newton, KS; one brother, J. C. Kennedy, Long Beach, CA; two grandsons, Bryan Reynolds, San Francisco, CA and Robert M. Freeman, Kansas City, MO; one granddaughter, Shannon Freeman, Centerview, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.
