Charlene McGee, 84, Harrisonville, MO, died Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville.  Funeral services were held  Tuesday, August 28 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, with burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.   Contributions to Harrisonville Animal Shelter.

Charlene was born December 6, 1933 in Garden City, MO, a daughter of Charles Franklin and Catherine Virginia (Shipley) Ward.  She was raised in Garden City and was a 1951 graduate of Garden City High School.  Charlene was united in marriage to Robert E. McGee on July 4, 1952 in Garden City.  After marrying, she and Bob moved to Harrisonville.

Charlene worked many years for Friedrich Tax Service as a tax preparer, and worked in the office for Public Water Supply District #9 in Harrisonville before her retirement in 2001.  She was a member of Antioch Southern Baptist Church in Harrisonville.  Charlene was an active volunteer in her church and in the community.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kathy McGee; and a son, Robert McGee.

Charlene is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" McGee, of the home; two sons, Rodney McGee, Kansas City, MO, and Rick (April) McGee, Harrisonville; two daughters, Karen Wilbur, Oak Grove, MO, and Kelly (Micah) Quinn, Harrisonville; a sister, Reta Vogt, Urich, MO; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
